I am sorting out the Thames Barge at the moment.
The original kit is staying much as it was except that the printed styrene sheet is now laser-cut and the cast metal winches have been replaced by laser-cut acrylic ones.
I am looking at laser-cutting some wood parts too for the skylights, cargo hatch boards and detail in the dinghy. That sort of thing so it will be nice.
Etched brass detailing for the Tabernacle, stay blocks and the like as well as some detailing parts to add that extra something.
‘Ramin’ hardwood dowel has been sourced.
The blocks and deadeyes will be wood.

Keep watching this space as they say because I have had a mental  boost!

Did I say winches?  Well, yes I did!
The piccies below are for a simple brailing winch.  Its only little as you can see, because it’s at 1/35th scale.
I am cutting a 1/24th prototype right now and will post it as soon as possible.

I am making three brailing winches all together and a couple of Anchor winches in 1/24th scale and to suit the HFM barge of course.  They can be made to any scale to so just ask.
Price,  I don’t know yet but they will not be at all expensive

They will be available soon and I’m going to make them 50 at a time so supply should be no problem
Available soon in any scale.  More to follow..

HFM Revisited!

Home.
Well I think that’s Knockout!

In the revised kit will be brass for the davits and the dinghy.  Wood blocks and laser cut wedges to hold the canvass down. (I’ll have a look on my Caldercraft Northlight for the method).

I will be making the rudder with an extended ‘sailing section’ which can be removed for static display, lee boards and keel extension from Laser-cut Perspex.
I will investigate what’s involved with casting the bulb in lead.

It has some nice winches now too. They look very well and I might make them available to any scale.    I’ll show them off as soon as possible.  That’s the main winch, and the Brailing winch and leeboard winches.

Jeff, the deck looks great, how did you do that?
